These Choirs will deliver a message of hope to the world, by doing so we will rebuild our communities and the family structure. Convention held June 2, 2006 in Jackson, MS.
Simon in his global Ambassadorial duties will lead gospel
Crusades in the cities lead by WCM mayors throughout the
World, according to Bishop Simon, “I am happy to serve the
WCM in this noble capacity.”

WHEREAS, Grammy Winner and International Recording Artist, now Bishop Joe Simon and the spiritual advisor of the World Conference of Mayors, is conducting spiritual community crusaders in cities across the nation and the world; and
WHEREAS, Bishop Joe Simon, a native of the great state of Louisiana is launching his crusade in his home state at the "International Stage"; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the crusade is to positively motivate the community, fight drugs and crime, encourage family unity and promote friendship and world peace.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the NCBM support the efforts of Bishop Joe Simon and commend him for bringing the community crusades to the cities of the nation and the world.

The 2008 Jus` Blues Music Awards will proudly honor the Grammy Award winning, legendary Blues & Soul singer Joe Simon with the Jus` Blues Music Lifetime Achievement Award. The music veteran was responsible for many hits in the 1970's like the Grammy Award winning hit, The Chokin' Kind, The Power of Love, Drowning In The Sea of Love and countless others.
The honorable occasion will be the Jus` Blues Music Awards Show on August 7th at The Historical Daisy Theater on Beale Street in downtown Memphis. At high noon of August 7th, Bishop Joe Simon will be immortalized with a "Music Note" on the Beale Street Walk of Fame in front of The Historical Daisy Theater. The "Music Note" presentation is similar to the "Stars In The Sidewalk" on Hollywood Boulevard.
The musical journey and life of Bishop Joe Simon is a joyful and triumphant story of spiritual growth and change.

In 1966, Simon released "Teenager's Prayer", which peaked at #11 on Billboard's R&B charts. Within the next two years, Simon released a string of hits: "Nine Pound Steel", "(You Keep Me) Hanging On", "The Chokin' Kind", "Farther On Down The Road", and "Yours Love".
